Episode 22: How to create a signature service around your strengths

Welcome to The Rachel Kurzyp Show

You’re listening to episode 22.

Today I want to support you to create a signature service around your strengths.

If you’ve found yourself offering a service that leaves you feeling exhausted and out of alignment, you’re not alone.

Many of my dream clients come to me for this reason. Which is why I’m excited to share some of the questions and exercises I take my clients through inside my programs.

My hope is that they will help you to see where you can make changes in your current services and if it’s time to create your own signature service that supports you to show up as your authentic self.

If you haven’t already, go back and listen to episode 7 where I explain my 4-step framework for defining your niche. What I’m covering today, is going deeper into step 1 – YOU.

So many of us create services that serve our clients but don’t serve us and I think that’s because we get told that niching and business isn’t about us – it’s about our clients and while this is true it doesn’t mean that you should remove yourself from the equation all together.

Most of your customers and clients are going to buy or choose to work with you because of who you are as a person. Your unique skills, knowledge, experience, and expertise. People become the go-to experts in their space when they can show up in their zone of genius and do work that lights them up. That’s why jumping on trends and fads doesn’t work in the long-term.

I also think that we skip this step because talking about ourselves and looking inwards can be hard – especially as a solopreuner. We’ve rarely got asked to talk about ourselves outside of a 9-5 job interview, right? And unless you’ve implemented a feedback strategy as part of your offboarding process, you may not even know what your clients are thinking and saying about you.

So here are three ways you can start to determine your unique strengths, skill sets and knowledge.

Exercise 1.

I want you to get clear on your strengths. Grab a piece of paper and answer these prompts in as much detail as you can.

✓ People always tell me that I’m great at…
✓ I always help people to…
✓ I constantly get complimented on….. but I don’t understand because it seems so easy and I’m sure everyone can do that.

Now you have your answers, are you using these strengths currently in your services? If you aren’t this may be why things feel out of alignment.

Exercise 2.

Again on a piece of paper, I want you to write down the 15 most common questions people ask you about your line of work?

Hows and whys. Super silly questions. Questions you think are painfully obvious, but people constantly ask you.

Again, now you have your answers in front of you. Can you say that you’re using your skill sets in the services you offer? If you aren’t, can you tweak them so that you are.

And exercise 3.

I want you to write down how you feel, think and approach your work differently to your peers and competitors.

Do your current services allow you to demonstrate the full breadth of your knowledge or allow you to deep dive into one topic? If they don’t it may be time to reflect on what it is you want to be known for, the ways you want to work with your clients and how you want your business to support you as an individual.

Because I bet if you’re listening to this, you didn’t start a business for the mai tais and $10k months. You started a business because you had a vision and want it to support you and your multi-passionate lifestyle.

So there you have it. The three exercise I take my clients through so they can create a signature service around their unique strengths, skill sets and knowledge.

I’d love to support you to create a signature service that allows you to show up in your zone of genius inside my 12-week coaching program The Creative Freedom Method. TCFM is where I teach how to find your niche, package up + launch your signature service and create content that attracts your dream clients with ease. This much-loved program is currently undergoing some changes. It’s now a group program BUT you still have 1:1 access to me and I’m still reviewing all of your work and I’m in the process of updating all the video trainings and modules. If you’ve love to be the first to know when doors open in April and receive $500 off the program price, please sign up to the waitlist today.
