Welcome to The Rachel Kurzyp Show.
Last week I offered free visibility audit sessions to my community because many of you have expressed that tools like Reels on Instagram don’t feel aligned with how you want to express yourself and communicate with your dream clients.
Which I 100% understand and can relate too. While running a business online requires us to adapt I do believe that you don’t have to use a tool, channel or strategy if it doesn’t feel good to do so.
However, I do feel it is your responsibility as the CEO of your business to find strategies that feel good and deliver results. So when one person in my community shared with me that they felt reliant on Instagram and they’d have to close their business if engagement and sales continued to dropped, I knew others must be feeling the same way too.
And I was right, many of the people I spoke with during the free sessions were investing large amounts of their resources into visibility strategies that weren’t serving their business and underutilizing strategies that were already working.
While I’ve openly shared that I grew my community, reputation, and client base by writing articles, speaking at events, teaching in masterminds, and featuring on podcasts.
I also invested in what I like to call Behind-The-Scenes visibility strategies. What we see other businesses do online is often only just one part of their visibility strategy.
These make not be the sexy activites that online coaches and consultants talk about, but they are some of the most effective at getting you in front of your potential clients and allowing you to share who you are, what you do and how you help your clients. Which is the whole point of your overall visibility strategy.
So if posting on the gram is no longer giving you the results you want, keep listening because I’m going to share six easy ways you can build visibility in your business that require minimal time, energy, creativity and money.
Strategy #1 – Referrals
This seems to be one of the most underutilized visibility and sale strategies in online businesses. When I was a copywriter and marketing consultant for hire 90% of my work came through referrals. Now about 60% of my 1:1 coaching clients come through referrals and personal introductions.
It can be as simple as asking your clients to refer you to 1-2 peers as part of your offboarding process or offering your clients a discount or additional support if they refer a friend or peer to you.
Strategy #2 – Collaborations
Collaborations and partnerships can take many forms. You can join forces with peers in your industry and offer services, run workshops, do live QnAs on Instagram Lives. The list goes on.
What activity you decide really depends on the visibility results you’d like. But in most cases, collaborating with the right people can help you build the know, like and trust factor through association which can support you to call in more dream clients and increase your sales.
Strategy #3 – Freebies
Creating a free resource for your clients is a great way to demonstrate your expertise, ways of working, signature frameworks and the types of results you can support them to achieve.
If a written guide isn’t appealing for your teaching style, know that you can create other forms of freebies from video trainings to mini workshops to spreadsheets to templates.
The most important thing is that this freebie supports your customer journey and allows them to build a relationship with you so that they’ll know if they’d like to work with you when you invite them to.
Strategy #4 – Giveaways
Giveaways can be a fun way to grow your online community both on social media and through email. You can run one by yourself or partner with other businesses to increase your reach.
I run a few giveaways a year and I love doing this as I’m able to give back to my community and build relationships with potential clients who I may have never met. If you’re wanting to grow your client base and demonstrate your expertise, give this strategy a try.
Strategy #5 – Networking
So many of my first business opportunities came from my personal and professional networks. This still forms a huge part of my visibility strategy today.
I dedicate time to catching up with 3-5 industry professionals a month. In our calls or in-persona catchups I always share what I’m working on, the opportunities I’m looking for and the clients I’d love to support. This usually results in introductions, offers, speaking engagements and so on.
So if you’re wanting these kinds of opportunities and connections too, I’d encourage you to actively seek them out by connecting with your peers.
Strategy #6 – Value Calls
I always encourage my clients to offer value calls if this strategy feels right for them because they allow you to conduct market research, build relationships with your community and extend an invitation to work with you all in one session.
If you connect best with your clients live, then I’d encourage you to include value calls in your business. They’re also the perfect option to written freebies and workshops if you’re looking for an highly engaging, low-cost alternative.
Well there you have it, 6 easy ways to build visibility in your business that you may have not considered before.
And if you’d like my support to meet your visibility goals this year, you’re in luck. I’ll be running a live workshop on Thursday the 28th of April designed to help you master your messaging so you can stand out for all the right reasons. Save the date. More details coming soon.
