Is Get Your Dream Job for you?

You’re having trouble identifying your skill sets, personal attributes and career goals AND you need someone to remove the complexities surrounding job applications.

Your dream job is within reach. You just need to put your best foot forward…

You want to change careers but you’re not sure to what, how to highlight your transferable skills or make connections in that industry.

You’ve spent weeks trying to define your skill sets, personal attributes and career goals but you’re struggling to succinctly explain what sets you apart from others.

You’ve recently taken a career break to start a family, travel the world or do further study but you don’t know how to weave this into your job history.

Your dream is to run your own business but right now you need to get a few more rungs on the corporate ladder.

You know you should be putting yourself out there more but you feel awkward networking, you only apply for jobs where you can do 100% of the tasks and you tense up when someone asks, “What do you do?”

You know that with a little encouragement and step-by-step guidance, your dream employer will see everything you have to offer.  But you need a copywriter, brand specialist and career coach in one. Don’t worry, we do exist.

I came to Rachel because I needed help repackaging my CV and updating my LinkedIn profile. Rachel helped me find clarity and expression around my skill sets, personal attributes, and career goals, when I couldn’t. She acknowledged and managed my personal fears with empathy and firmness. Her support and encouragement makes me feel I can be me for the first time in ages, and it feels good. When I saw her copy I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders and that maybe someone does want what I have to offer.

Here’s what you get:

The Works

  • A thought-provoking online form that helps you identify your skill-sets, attributes and what makes you stand out from the pack.
  • A 45-minute discovery session via Zoom where we chat about where you’re at and where you want to be in terms of your career or next opportunity AND how to position yourself to secure your next role and how to find it.
  • A 300-word tailored-to-you personal introduction that can be used on your CV, cover letter and LinkedIn profile to highlight who you are, what you do, and how you can help.
  • A list of 8-12 key skill summaries PLUS a role description and 3-5 key achievement summaries for your last 3 roles written for you. And I’ll help you include your volunteer experience, industry associations, portfolio etc. in a logical way.
  • A modern CV template that highlights your skills, experience, and key job achievements.
  • A cheat sheet for how to make the most of your LinkedIn profile AND tailored-to-you profile recommendations.
  • AND I’ll take a look at your cover letter and provide structural and copyedit suggestions to ensure it has everything potential employees would want to know.

One of the questions I asked in my final interview was “what had stood out in my resume and LinkedIn profile?” The organisation said the phrase “contagious enthusiasm” stood out, which was part of my resume Rachel helped me with. When I met with Rachel I had signed up with LinkedIn Premium, and following her steps on how to create and get the most out of my profile, along with reaching out to selected people for testimonials and recommendations, I was able to interview for several positions and accept my dream role before my LinkedIn Premium free trial was even up! I found the time spent working with Rachel to update my resume and create a LinkedIn profile extremely valuable.

This is how it works:

  • We book in a time to have our initial chat on Zoom or over the phone. I will then send you my invoice which needs to be paid in full before our initial meeting.
  • Once payment has been made, I will send you my online form which must be completed no later than 24 hours before our scheduled chat.
  • You will send me your current CV, a link to your LinkedIn profile, and links (or PDFs) to 2-3 dream jobs you currently want to apply for.
  • I’ll do some digging and read-through the documents so I can come to the meeting prepared with questions, thoughts and ideas.
  • After the meeting, I’ll go away and write up your personal introduction. I’ll also send you a document with suggestions of how to improve your LinkedIn profile. PLUS, I’ll make copy and structure changes to your current CV. e.g. help you re-frame your job achievements and highlight your key skills. This usually takes 2-3 days.
  • I’ll send it all back to you in a nice, little package. You can then ask any questions you may have and we can tweak copy if necessary.

Rachel listened carefully to my ideas and dreams, demonstrating her ability to collaborate, but was never hesitant to give it to me straight, particularly when I desperately sought clarity. Rachel is able to take overwhelming information and translate it into actionable steps and remove the complexities surrounding job applications, self promotion and starting a new business from scratch. To this day, Rachel continues to help me build a personal brand which is authentic and sustainable. I continuously look back over the resources provided by Rachel and I have no doubt they will serve me well into the future.

I came to Rachel because she has a great reputation, and with her background and experience she really knows her stuff. Rachel did a very thorough job of helping me with my career goals by speaking to me to find out important information about my background and where I want to be. The highlight of the project is that I now have a personal bio that will really speak to future clients and employers and sums up my background and goals well. Plus, I will be able to use it in a number of places. Rachel’s working style is very thorough. She really makes sure she gets to know you before delivering a polished product. Rachel will help open up your eyes as to how potential employers and clients think and approach hiring staff.

Applying for jobs is the worst.

Applying for jobs is the worst, especially if you’ve been out of the workforce for a while or are trying to get a few more rungs on the corporate ladder before you do your own thing. No one talks about how hard it is to sell yourself and highlight your skills, expertise, strengths and achievements.

I don’t know about you, but I feel there’s definitely an art form to applying for jobs, writing a cover letter and responding to selection criteria. That’s why I decided to create my Get Your Dream Job package.

Your CV and LinkedIn bio are some of the most important things you’ll ever write.

Having a CV and bio that states who you are, what you do and how you help can be the difference between getting your dream job and hearing, “We’ll keep your CV on file.”

I’d know. I’ve had my fair share of jobs over the years. My first job was at Domino’s pizza when I was 15 (I’ll tell you how I can make a Hawaiian pizza in 4 seconds another time). Since then, I’ve worked for brands across Australia, England and Bangladesh where I did it all from managing teams and departments to keeping my head down and getting stuff done.

Over the last six years, I’ve been running my own business, which means I get up every day and sell who I am, what I do and how I can help women, small businesses and global brands. I have become good at writing about myself and using my CV and profile to target a specific position.

You need to stand out from the pack in a way that feels right to you.

What I’ve learnt through applying for jobs, hiring people, completing tenders and speaking with my network is that to make your CV and LinkedIn profile stand out from the pack, you must have a clear and authentic personal brand.

Your CV and profile is a strategic marketing document that highlights your value by focusing on your areas of expertise, key achievements, standout accomplishments, and major contributions to your employers and community.

Hire an expert and take out the stress of applying for jobs.

I’m a copywriter, brand specialist and career coach in one. And I’ve been told, I’m the right balance between a great listener; give-it-to-you-straight talker, and get stuff done coach. Everyone who has completed this program has got their dream job; A fact that makes me very happy.

I came to Rachel because I wanted to make the move from employee to freelancer, to go from freelancing as a “side gig” to freelancing as a way of life. I needed help getting myself motivated to hustle for work, updating my website, and doing things that may help demonstrate my expertise e.g. LinkedIn bio. Rachel’s authentic and personal interactions made me feel understood and comfortable. The best part of her service was helping to instill the confidence that I can actually be a full time freelancer. I would definitely recommend Rachel because of her straight-talking, no-nonsense, fresh and fun approach to helping people achieve their business goals.

I came to Rachel because I needed to explain to the world why I was awesome at what I do, and that’s incredibly hard to do well when you’re so close to the subject matter! Rachel’s research and writing skills helped her to write a piece that introduced me in a unique and compelling way, while her down-to-earth approach made a confronting and stressful exercise into a supportive, creative one. The highlight of the project was when Rachel captured what I had said verbally in a way I would never have felt brave enough to write with words. I’ve lost count of how many friends I’ve recommended to Rachel, knowing that they’d be in good hands as they work towards making their own work dreams come true.
